Pregnancy, Babies and Children Treatments

Look after yourself and your family with alternative therapies.  Choose from a wide range of treatments from Massage, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candles and Reiki

Massage During and After Pregnancy
During pregnancy, the body is constantly re-balancing to take account of the new life developing within it, and this can cause nausea, backache, headaches, indigestion and water retention.  Having massage Reiki can greatly alleviate these and other problems, and gives special attention to the mother-to-be, which in turn nurtures the new life that grows within her.

During your consultation, your therapist will discuss your pregnancy, how your mind and body are coping and how you are affected by the experience of your pregnancy. A tailored treatment will then be devised, using aromatherapy oils when appropriate and if safe to do so.

If you are overdue, a massage treatment can relax you and encourage the labour process to begin. There are also certain aromatherapy oils that stimulate the womb, which you could also benefit from.

If you have just had a baby, massage can give nurturing and emotional support, alleviate the muscle strain of labour & childbirth, rebalance the pelvis & spine and prevent & reduce back & neck pain.

Massage after Miscarriage
If you have miscarried, it’s an extremely sad and traumatic time.  A gentle massage or Reiki can help to ‘re-connect’ your mind and body and the use of aromatherapy oils can help to re-balance your hormones and support your emotional and physical healing journey.

Children
Massage can help children in a number of ways.  It can ease exam stress, improve sleep, relieve sore muscles from sport activities or carrying heavy bags and soothe skin conditions such as acne, eczema & psoriasis.  If your child is unsure about massage, Indian Head Massage is an excellent alternative.  If your child has ear or sinus problems, then Hopi Ear Candles is an excellent treatment and is especially good problems like for Glue Ear.

Babies
Massage helps to establish a warm and physical closeness that the baby was used to in the womb ~ it was continually massaged by body movement and by the mother stroking her abdomen. The massage covers the whole body, and can last up to 20-minutes, although this depends entirely on the baby.
